The docudrama “Land of Fire,” produced by Level 52 for HRT and directed by Mladen Đaković, depicts testimonies related to Nazi crimes from the fall of 1943 to the summer of 1944 in the Istrian region. The stories of survivors recount the time when Rommel’s units ravaged the Istrian Peninsula, describing moments that changed people’s lives and left lasting marks on them. Despite the horrific scenes etched into their memories, the protagonists found the strength to move forward, hope that transcended suffering, and forgiveness that nullified revenge.
